Customers frequently commend the restaurant's tasteful and cozy decor, creating a welcoming and pleasant dining atmosphere. The service is generally noted as friendly and attentive, with some mentions of helpful staff enhancing the overall experience. Very pleasant dining experience. Lovely decor and comfortable seating. Tried their signature fish dish (can't remember the name) and it was delicious. Prices are of course on the higher end but not that different from full-fledged restaurants we find in the top hotels. Restaurant claims to have halal certification, which certainly is a huge plus point.
Great experience during our dinner here. The staff is also nice and friendly. I come here early to drop the birthday present and one of their staff Elly is very helpful. I keep communicate with Elly when to serve the cake and present and everything was smooth. The environment is great with a slow background music. The food is delicious with full of flavours and the portion is just nice for 4 of us. Highly recommended to anyone who would like to get Halal certified seafood restaurant here in JB. We will repeat here again for sure next time
Had a great experience here! The food was delicious and full of flavor. The ambience was cozy and welcoming. perfect for a relaxed meal. Big thanks to Elly at the front counter for being so friendly and helpful when taking our order, and to the waiter who served our food with a smile.
The first halal Chinese restaurant in JB, it has a tasteful decor and a calm ambience. Food arrived promptly and tasted good, though portions were a bit small and service could be improved. Overall, a well-executed concept worth trying.
We recently visited Sang Seafood Restaurant, a place known for presenting itself as a Malay-Muslim restaurant with a modern Mediterranean dining atmosphere. While the décor leans into that contemporary, stylish vibe, the food leans more towards local Chinese Muslim-style cuisine—which, in our experience, turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Our group of six ordered a well-rounded selection of dishes: Fried rice with fish roe Stir-fried sambal kangkung Seabass in nyonya sauce Baby sotong (squid) Claypot tofu Kung pao chicken All the dishes were well-cooked and flavorful, with a solid, dependable taste that felt familiar but satisfying. The fried rice with fish roe deserves a special mention—it was aromatic, well-seasoned, and had a great texture. The nyonya seabass was another highlight, delivering a punchy and balanced flavor profile. That said, we did have a few small gripes with the dining experience. We were seated at a rectangular table, which made food sharing a bit awkward—a round table would’ve been much more ideal, especially for a group. Additionally, the dishes came out staggered, which broke up the flow of the meal. It would’ve been much better if all the dishes were served together, and the rice served promptly alongside the main dishes, rather than after a delay. The total bill came to just over RM200, which is certainly on the premium side, but given the quality of the food and the setting, it felt justifiable. In summary, Sang Seafood offers delicious, halal-friendly Chinese-style dishes in an upscale, modern environment. It’s a great spot for group dining—just make sure to request a round table if you’re coming with friends or family, and maybe a reminder to have all dishes served at once!
I saw their video on TikTok with good reviews and decided to try. Although the prices looks steep. Wow! The dishes are not disappointing. All the dishes we ordered tasted delicious. We even order the fried rice to bring back. Will surely come again and try other dishes. chili crabs next time. Hope they will maintain their standard.
Went for iftar. The food was already served on our table when we arrived at the restaurant. Some of it is still warm and some of it already felt cold but not too cold. I guess it's okay as they still taste good. Pricey but good. The service was great. But the inside of the restaurant is not too big so it can be a little bit crowded for iftar as all tables are occupied. Will come again to try other dishes.
